Merkel Commercial Development

Description:      Redevelopment of existing site including heritage listed building to provide three medium size retail buildings with flexibility for future unknown tenants.

Brief:                Preparation of structural plans for Tilt Panel Construction buildings including extension to existing heritage listed steel framed glasshouse showroom front and on site carpark with stormwater retention to Council’s requirements.

Outcome:         A modern refurbishment of existing problem building and two flexible retail buildings with ‘soft’ landscaped carpark improving area generally.

 

Lake Pertobe Bridge

Description:      Replacement of an ailing pedestrian bridge and upgrade to suit current access and mobility standards.

Brief:                Realign pedestrian bridge and raise superstructure level to allow the safe passage of watercraft below, whilst upgrading the width and deck grades to suit current Australian Standards for access and mobility.

Outcome:          A prominent timber framed icon, meeting universal access requirements, with construction on time and within budget.

Description:       Industrial building and distribution centre on greenfield site

Brief:                 Preparation of all aspects of civil and structural engineering design including structural design, stormwater design and water retention, sewer design, on-site water storage and hydrant system for fire fighting, carpark design and hydraulic services.

 

Outcome:          A successful solution for development of an industrial site with lack of mains pressure and flow, with an architecturally pleasing showroom in a prominent publicly visible location.


 

Warrnambool Breakwater - Lower Landing

Description:    Replacement and extension of a timber wharf to suit berthing of marine vessels with delivery vehicle access

Brief:              The new wharf was required to berth the Warrnambool fishing fleet and Coast Guard, with vehicular access for light trucks to service the vessels.

Outcome:        A substantial timber framed wharf facility which can now be used by medium sized boats and the general public for recreational purposes.

 

Nuns Beach Precinct Portland

Description:      Nun’s Beach is a historic swimming beach within the Portland Harbour. An upgrade of pedestrian access and amenities was required to meet the needs of the local community.

Brief:                To prepare a Precinct Master Plan in accordance with the requirements of Glenelg Council, the Department of Sustainability and Environment and community surveys. Provision of detailed designs for access stairs, an upgrade of existing public toilets and a new shade/shelter structure was required.

Outcome:          An environmentally sensitive beach development which meets government and community requirements.
